Manufactured ceiling joists+ sheetrock?
Guys; A friend has a new house with the manufactured (can not remember brand) 10 or 12″ joists that are 20′ long in one room.. Can he put sheetrock directly to the bottom of the joists?

should be no problem, as long as they're 16" OC or less.
If they are 24" oc, I'd strap the ceiling w/ 1x
What Shep said but 5/8ths fire code will hang on 24 inch centers.
Thanks guys! They are 16oc. I also failed to mention that there is a bed room above. I was not sure if there would be a certain amount of twist that may influence the sheetrock over time. My suggestion was to search the manufacturers recommendation.
That's a god recommendation. You are probably talking about TJIs or other brand of I-joists. they should have blocking at midspan or straping to reduce bounce, twist, and vibrations.Know how deep?
