Hi,
I’m thinking of installing 12×12 marble tile in my kitchen. I’d like to know if it is possible to install this tile tightly one to another so a grout joint is not needed. I kind of like the look when they’re tightly butted one to another but I’m just not sure if doing this could lead to problems during or after the installation…
Thanks All!

It can be done successfully, if the tiles are exactly thwe same size. Some tiles have a beveled edge, so that will show as a joint line. If they have a square edge, then you better get the tops all set to exactly the same plane or else you will have sharp edges. You will want to fill the joints with unsanded grout even if you think they are butt-tight, or else you will have a problem wiht water seeping between the tiles.
