Hi
I want to remodel some site built windows overlooking a lake. The windows are on a prow front, blanks built between studs, and firred up inside and out with 1X. Basically, I want to add another 18 inches on top of the existing windows (approx 3/4 deep).
I’m thinking there is some aluminum channel with double U shape that I could slip on top the existing window and add new window insert, without much impact on the lake view. This would be caulked for weather. Any other ideas.
Thanks Much

scrape it down and epoxy the new unit onto the old.. i assume this has sufficient overhang to give protection cince they don't sound like the kind of unit you want fully exposed to the elements..
i would'nt spend much time trying to make and aluminum extrusion meld into the deal
