Yep... and mine does. Is your pressure set right on your compressor? Bad reading at the guages? Clogged inlet? Gotta be something going on there....but could just be a bummer of a gun. Is it brand new?
EDIT: Does your Max framer have a depth of drive adjustment? That could be out of whack too.

So it's shoots the 3" nails just fine into KD, but won't bury them in the PT? I'm sorry, but I don't know what to tell you... that's just bizarre. I actually back the compressor off a bit when nailing PT as it's so wet and soft that the nails drive deeper than they do in the KD or engineered stuff we're usually knocking together.
Is the gun leaking at all? Hissing out the seals? Geez, I'm at a loss. Got a service center nearby?
I have only shot about 100 nails out of mine (its only 72 hours old...) but I noticed that with the depth gauge cranked all the way down it did not shoot as deep as when it was backed off just a hair... dunno if this will go away with break in... I will be using it alot this week, and we shall see.
thanks for yr input.
i'm going to work on the compressor first.
Diesel, it might be that he's using a yellow pine Pt and the gun is set for spf framing lumber.
Crank that up to 120psi and let er rip.
