I have the Max framing coil nailer CN890( roman numeral 2 ) My problem is I can hardly go with a couple shots before the roll brakes and I have to open it up and reset the roll of nails. Part of the problem is I seem to have no control on the depth the nails go in–which may be my always losing attempt to keep the roll from breaking. This is with the 16 shorts. I’ve sprayed the roll with a greasless lubricant, tried a wide range of pressures, bought official nails from MAXCO, and tried two 50 foot senco half inch hoses and just one 50 foot half inch senco hose. I use a one and half horse EMGLO twin tank compressor. I’ve used stick nailers for the last 25 years and feel overly confident on my knowledge of making framing guns work–but not this

Forgive me if this sounds demeaning, I don't mean it that way, but can you move the coil spindle in/out? I have a superdecker and one of our crew was having troubles similar to what you are indicating. The nails he was firing were too long for the coil setting, and they were getting pinched, thus breaking the coil. Moving the coil holder "back" resolved things. Hopefully this helps.
