hello people,
just back after a long break from the forums. and after asking one question yesterday, and got my answer, have just remembered what a resource this place is!
thanks to all who read and help with their opinions!!
just about to buy a couple of nail guns- a finish nailer, brad nailer and also a floor nailer. i have a couple of agents who service my area well, which is more important than most everything else. there is little to differenciate the agents, but what about the toolmakers?
can anyone out there advise which maker you think is best in these nailers and why?
as i have said before, i’m from ireland and as not many builders here care about what they do, or what they work with, i’m here to ask you guys and gals, who seem to have a passion for what you do and how to do!
AND OF COURSE THE TOYS WE BUILD WITH!!!
THANKS AGAIN PEOPLE!

MAX, MAX, MAX. Once you use one, no other maker matches up.
I like the max finish nailer quite a bit. It is light, well-balanced, and comfortable. Also easy to adjust depth of drive. I haven't had it jam yet. I want to get one of their brad nailers, big bucks though. I also have one of the Bostitch floor staplers, and it has been quite reliable. Good luck!
Dustin
Here in the States Max guns are usually thought to be a little more durable and a little better performing than the Bostitch guns, but also more expensive. Bostitch makes a fine gun, but IMO, they're not quite as nice as Max and also don't have as many bells and whistles. That being said.... I've got a couple of each brand and like them all.
You're a smart man for considering the availability of service centers in your tool choices.
Finish nailer.....Senco
Brad nailer......Porter Cable
Flooring nailer......Bostitch
I`ve not worked with MAX......just thought I`d give my preferences for consideration.
Lemme get this straight....
YOU BANNED REZ?!?!
Holy bagels and lox Batman!
They say Max. I've not really worked with them either but have heard nothing but good stuff about them.
duffsaw,
I visit around 2500 job sites a year I looked real hard at nail guns before I bought mine.. The most common nail gun used was the Hitachi. (I own several). Every owner I asked thought very highly of them.. Followed closely by Paslode who gives away nail guns when you purchase a pallet of nails. I bought a Bostich because it has the absolute best impact 1000 pounds compared to 880 average by the others.. That's important to me because I'm timberframing my house and using hardwoods like white oak, black walnut etc.. It also helps when you are nailing into gluelams..
