My trusty max superframer (sn890rh) has a broken driver, and the tool repair place wants $170 plus labor to fix. Has anyone else had this problem? I think I’ll just get a new one unless anyone has some spare parts they’d like to part with.

Are you not capable of replacing the part? See if this page will open for you, http://www.toolpartsdirect.com/cgi-bin/schematic.cgi/maxtools/SN890RH I think the part you are needing is $98.00
I think replacing the part would be pretty easy... However, with the one for sale on ebay, I might just buy that and keep the broken one for parts. The driver actually cracked in the middle, so the only way to repair would be to weld it, and I'm not sure that would work well on the hardened steel of the driver.

I hope that link worked..
if youre comfortable with Ebay, this looks like it might go for just a bit over what that part will cost..
if the link diddnt work, search "max framer" on ebay

What is broken? One of my nailers that failed was simply the thread into the piston - a 50 cent helicoil and red locktite made it better than new.
Same thing just happened to my pc finish gun.Luckily it'll only cost 40 - 55 bucks + shipping.Anyone have the same experience w/this gun?If so how often? I'm thinking of getting a different one.
Thanks,and good luck Ian
