May 2008,Remodeling for Efficincy articl
Greetings from north of the 49th. This would be my first entry, but I’ve been a fan of the mag for a long time. Just finished re-reading the remodeling for energy efficiency article, most of which I agree with however all three houses have warm roofs. It’s my understanding that this is a huge mistake. All the homes in question have shingled roofs, with no ventilation under the roof deck I suspect they’ll be lucky to get 10 years out of them. Not to mention the rot. Am I getting worked up over nothing?

Shingled with what?
The Canadian Government has a wealth of information about how to deal with insulation, weatherization , ect. in northern climates. Search for that there are loads of info on their sites.
