I am sourcing out a LOT of doors for a high end condo project (about 2000 doors) and have been looking into mdf doors which I have used with success on custom homes. I found a company, Trupine doors out of Ft Meyers, FL, that says their ulta low density fiberboard is lighter and better than MDF. I have a corner sample and it looks OK. Anyone have any experience with low density and ultra low density fiberboard??

If the LDF edges are exposed, i.e. they are raised panels, I would be wary. It can be difficult to get a good paint job on the profiled areas because it's so porous. I have used paint-grade cabinet doors with wooden frames and high-density fiberboard (HDF) raised panels, and the panel edges paint quite well. Not sure what your application is...
