Hi,
I’m doing an addition with the rear wall consisting of MDO and Fypon trim. I can cover the vast majority of the joints in the MDO with the Fypon trim.
However there will be a few seams that I going to have to fill as smoothly as possible since I can’t cover them. I’m planning on screwing these joints down with stainless trim head screws and then using body putty or epoxy to fill the joint before painting.
I do worry about the joint failing in coming years.
Has anyone dealt with this issue before?
I can include pictures tomorrow if it would help!
Thank you in advance,
Tom

Epoxy is a by far a better product to use on exterior joints.
Might help to bisquet the joint. Should cut down on any forward/backward movement between the two butt pieces.

I think what I will try is epoxy with a mesh tape. Basically treat it
almost like a piece of drywall.TomYou Don't Know.
