I’m building a $370,000 spec house. That’s upper-end for this part of the world. What should I do for pre-wiring for the future (and present) for net working, media etc. Sparky told me I need to home run cable form the satellite dish to
b each
TV. What about hubbing it instead along with the under ground cable.
b And
why are there 2 cables and 2 phone lines to each TV
I’ve been thinking the easiest why to do this is to find out exactly what I need from my dish, run that down from the attic to each main TV area, and then just do the basic cable and phone lines(one of each to each bedroom etc.) and then run plastic conduit to a box in each room that I can access in the future from the crawl or attic
Does anyone know of a kit or something that would handle all of this. Like a hub box and some simple instructions.

Two cable lines allow for a closed-circuit system if one wants. You could have a camera in a child's room and watch it on any tv in the house. Or you could put a vcr in one room, modulate it, and view it in other rooms. You don't need it, but cheaper to pull wire once if you ever might use it.
2 phone lines--assume you're talking cat-5--allows for in-house computer networking. So one line is phones and one is ethernet. We do this, with the cable modem by the hub and computers plugged in wherever.
*You want home runs from each receptacle. Splicing seriously diminishes the quality of the signals. If this is a spec home and you are wiring for future use, put at least two "smart system" conduits to each room. You never know how the future occupants will want to arrange phone/tv/computer... The smart systems come in bundles around 1"dia, including phone, ctv, in-house networking...., so putting in 1.5" conduit is on the safe side. Sweeps with minimum 6" radius.

*Did the homeruns in a similar house. Had a good guy for the TV wiring, and he put in signal boosters also (low cost). Said the more and longer the cable runs, more signal loss.
*I just got done doing this in my house, a ranch of 1,900 sf with a 1,600 sf unfinished basement. It would be nice to dedicate a closet or a wall in a closet to house telephone, dish splitters, and other stuff. It is much easier this way. Run 10 RG6 coax runs from each dish to the closet. 10 is a lot, but the new dishes will offer 2 way internet service (2 cables), and let you connect 4 receivers to the dish, (up to 8 cables). Since you have a crawl space, do all the cable runs before drywall goes up. Try to have a good idea of where you will position you PC's,TV's and put you boxes there. I used all Leviton jacks and have not had any problems. Their website and literature was invaluable in assisting me. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
*My understanding is that HDTV may require two cables (two dishes) for each TV. I could be wrong.
