I’ve bought a copper weathervane for a cupola with a lead-coated copper roof.
Architect says be careful that the roof and mast don’t eat each other, weathervane artist says never had a problem with a brass mast, builder says he doesn’t know who to ask.
Some scary words come up in my searches: galvanic action, metal-to-metal corosion, stable and unstable oxidation.
Does anyone out there have an answer?

Brass is fine with copper and LCC.

I get it! Cu!Thanks, everybody - there's nothing like Breaktime.
It stands a good chance that the WV is magnesium or zinc cast.
Either will abide w/ the roof, brass is preferable as far as that goes, but I have yet to see one.
The attachment screws ought to be Stainless Steel or Brass as far as I know. And dabbed w/ a good sealant.

Sorry, I reread the post and you infer that the mast is brass ( cast by an artisan)?. There is no danger of corrosive activity as long as the fastners are inert or encapsulated with an anti-oxide agent.

Go to electrical supply house and get a ground rod. The ground rods I've seen are steel plated with copper so they should work just fine. They even have a point on them which should make the vane respond to the slightest breeze.
harbor freight has a weather vane made out of brass for like $20 just steal the mast from it.
I think you've sent the message to the wrong person. I'm only here to put up advice, false confidence and feigned concern and have no need for the vane or the rod to support it. I wouldn't buy squat from Harbor Freight regardless. Say, you never did tell me if you've done any research in your town regarding Wyatt Earp. He's buried near here in Colma. The entire town(city) is built around the dead and cemeteries, one National, several private ones and a couple dedicated to pets only. Lots of job openings for stone carving etc.
I,m sorry , I will not reply again.

Watch his profile, his location changes as often as the weather. Your the second person in the last two days that has made reference to NM as his home, I didnt get it until I check the profile.
Sorry BB for letting the cat out of the bag!

Ok Corral is, was, in Tombstone, Arizona 85638
I know where the OK corral is/was but I was making a reference to the question of where BB lives. He changes his profile all the time and I always get a kick out of the people that dont know him well enough to know that. It was just an observation.

I spent about 10 months in Mobile, I don't know why he'd not celebrate it, it is a great city. I almost moved there, but the summer time humidity would of dropped me in my tracks.
