Metal Frame Basement Window Replacement Question
My house has metal frame hopper windows in the basement.
Which is the best method?
1. Remove metal frame and put replacement direct against the concrete?
2. Remove metal frame, use pressure treated against concrete and then replacement against that?
3. Leave metal frame and drill replacement window in it?
My window is just like this.

I’ve seen it done all 3 ways but not sure which is correct.
Thanks

I like to just remove the old steel frame, then install the new one without any PT frame. For one thing, you can install a bigger window to allow more light. I almost always use a vinyl window in this situation, so there's no possibility of rot. I set the window, then drill through the side mounting holes into the foundation and use tapcons to hold it in place. Then I'll foam around the window to seal it and lock it in place.
