Hello there,
Does anyone have some suggestions for attaching moldings (1/2″ x 3 1/2″ MDF) for window and door frames? The work is to be perform in a newer tall apartment building where I am sure most construction is of metal stud.
Thanks,

Some suggestions: countersunk self-drilling screws, construction adhesive and temporary bracing, drywall anchors with countersunk screws, p.i.t.a., bid accordingly

Depending on the gauge of the steel, a 15 ga finish nailer and spot gluing will work well.
Doors-if metal jamb, no wood liner. If wood jambs-possibly metal frame is lined with wood.
Finish screws-self tappers.

When trimming a space framed with metal stud, I like to pre-assemble window and door frames and install in one piece. I use nails where applicable and trim head screws with construction adhesive where nails won't do.
