After gutting, I will need to reframe some exterior walls from furring strips to studs. I’m debating between using wood 2x4x10s and metal studs. I worry that by using wood I will emilinate more room. I also worry that straight lumber is hard to find. I can work a little quicker with metal also. However, the rooms are going to have new oak baseboard trim, and I don’t know how easy it will be to attach the baseboard to metal. I like using the air nailer, but what techniques/products would work for oak to metal?
Thanks.
