Method for trim on raised kitch cabinet
I currently have a series of kitchen cabinets all at the same height, with a piece of trim attached to the top edge (probably pretty typical) that extends out (forward) of the face frame. The center cabinet is shorter than the rest (above the stove) and has a microwave oven mounted below it. I am going to replace the microwave with a range hood, and to install it correctly I need to raise this cabinet by about 7 inches.
I can get some more of the trim board and rap that around the top edge of this center cabinet, but I am not sure how to terminate the current trim piece that is on the other cabinets. Since they stick out farther than the actual cabinet, I don’t think it will look good to just have them stop. Any suggestions on how to best “connect” the trim piece to the raised cabinet section?
Thanks

Many possible ways, depending on all the variables. You have to make sure the doors can still swing open when it's all said and done too.
One solution might be to pull the range over cabinet out a couple inches from the wall so the flanking wall cabs but their crowns into it.
