Hello all,
Has anyone encountered mice chewing thru poly-b pipe? Had this recently in a townhouse….one unit 1st day in the garage ceiling (minimal damage); the next day adjacent unit in living space (major damage). Plumber says while not really common, does see it happen occasionally.

Mice, when poisoned, will make a desperate attempt to get to a water source including chewing through plumbing tubing. Change the way you are exterminating.
Wait...yer sayin that the mice know there is water in the pipe?
Funny, my mice eat my plastic gas jugs lids...do they drink gas?
I think it is MUCH more about chewing to (A) keeep their incisors wore down so they don't grow thru the roof of their mouths...and (B) Mice like to chew stuff to bits for bedding material.

Brian,
No poisoning occurred till AFTER the leaks and mouse poop were found...BTW when they chew thru rommex, are they after the 120V " boost"?:)
I knew about the water thing...IIRC the poison an anti-coagulant that basically makes them "bleed out". Had this with rats in the garden shed.... put out a "snack" for them...no more rats.... pulled out the golf clubs (once a year only!)...bag and clubs covered with bloody "rat prints"!!!!
