All,
We’re building a new ski house in Government Camp, Oregon.
I’m interested in thoughts on how to leave things if we can’t get the siding and paint finished before winter. We’ll have the roof on and the windows in for sure.
Should we install house wrap if we won’t get the siding on, or leave the plywood exposed?
I read a couple of posts that suggested that primed siding will hold up OK for paint the following year.
Any thoughts will be helpful.
Thanks,
Scott

Something that I have done for a number of years is paint all of my exterior plywood (this includes the floors). It adds a vapor barrier as well as, in your case, protecting the structure from the weather. I buy missed mixed paint, just make sure that it is exterior.
That's a great idea. Wish we had thought of that for the subfloor. In our area we can get recycled latex paint at the transfer station/hazardous waste disposal site.
Pass the idea on, if you had used it for the sub floor you would have not had the wear on the floor during construction.
