Considering mildew has been around for millions of years longer then us... I can only hope there isn't a mildew message board exchanging helpful advice. ;-)

so why would you pressre wash something that isn't water proof and all kinds of water will be injected up behind the siding???Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->

I always have worried about using a PW w/ our vinyl siding. I've found that whatever detergent (think I've used TSP before) and a brush on an extension pole makes quick work of it. Good thing, since I noticed it's about time again over the weekend. FWIW, that's on a single-story, sub-1,500 sq ft house.
an easy soft spray from a garden hose helps..Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->

Because pressure washin lets you know where all the loose and misnailed pieces are.

If you know what you're doing no water will get behind the siding.

Clorox cleanup sprayed onto the siding does a good job of removing mildew and algea.
There's virtually no way to prevent it. If it's damp, it will grow.
Cut down all the trees within 100 yds and rotate your house 1/4 turn every day so each side gets the same amount of sun every 4 days. Yeah right. For real make sure you have at least
1 foot of free air flow between your house and all bushes, plants, trees and any other vegetation. Scrub with vinyl siding cleaner and rinse with a hose don't power spray.
