Got my cabinets in (Bertch) the other day, I checked them out quickly and found a couple minor blemishes. The wife is the one that found them. Any advice on how to deal with the lumber yard and the wife with regards to this? Of the 3 things she found one of them I feel should be corrected, maybe with a replacement drawer front.
Also, I intend to gang two of the base cabinets together in an opening under a sloped roof. The cabinets (30″+21″) in a 53″ wide opening will not be exposed on either side. Because the cabinets will not go all the way back towards the sloped ceiling, what would be the best way of ganging them to get them level, plumb and secured to the walls and one another?
Thanks in advance, KaiserRoo

I dont have the answer to your question, but when you figure out the answer to the second part of your question I wanna know about it............=)
Naive but refreshing !
One drawer front? - Any decent lumberyard will get you a new one at no charge.
Can't help with the wife tho.

I'll bet Bertch will supply a new front, call them or the yard.
"Ganging": measure the space between end panels when you butt the face frames together (1/2"?) and cut a full height shim to go at back of cabs. Screw together face frame and back of cabs to make a ridgid unit.
Looks like you're a couple of inches shy of the opening width. I'd nail or screw a couple blocks to the side walls set to a plumb line at depth you want cabinet less 3/4" for face frame. Shove cab against stops, screw through cab sides into blocks and install fillers.
Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.
Just remember you sleep with the wife, so my advise is she is always right!<G>
Thanks to all for the help, I'll be e-mailing the kitchen person at the yard with the info so that she knows that I found this stuff early on.
Thanks again KaiserRoo
don't touch the cab's till U get a fix guaranteed in writting.
be prepared to "refuse due to damage".
and either cut the cab backs to fit the space or simply frame out a box to screw them to.

Jeff,
Thanks for the info I'll be trying to get in touch with the woman from the lumber company. I have called and left a voice mail last week and so far have not heard from them. Today I'll send an e-mail.
