I have been told that your not supposed to mix thin wall(copper baseboard ect.) with cast iron radiators. Does this also apply to pex IFR? The home owners I’M working with were told they could substitute pex IFR, for the old bulky cast radiator in the bathroom I’m currently remodeling. Can anybody clear this up? Does anyone have a good site to obtain sizing and installation guidelines?

FWIW, I've heard that too (from a pretty good plumber in PGH), with the explanation that with cast iron you use a lower temp and higher flow (or maybe higher temp lower flow)
I can't answer the other questions, though.
