Our local lighting places seem to want a full sit down appointment to design my lighting. Kind of hard when one works. so…….
I have a standard 8′ ceiling and a 6′ wide area over a fireplace that I want to illuminate. I need help on fixture placement.
I thought a monospot would look cool, one of the little MR16 halogen bulb types, but I am not sure that it would cover enough area. Second choice is an eyeball.
I have the same question for a 10′ long wall. I would prefer not to use a track light as they are sort of intrusive wrt looks. Do I use 2 or 3 monospots or 2 eyeballs? How far from the wall do I put these to get coverage? We plan on hanging some art work in these areas, maybe 4 ‘ wide, 3′ high, maybe larger in the 10’ run. Any suggestions?

Go and do the sit-down. There are far to many choices besides spots and eyeballs.
But before you do it, get a Juno brochure that shows all their recessed lighting. Tremendous information, presented very well. Lots of examples.
I have looked at the Juno literature. It is helpful. The array of choices is endless...."Democracy is when the people know exactly what they want, and get it good and hard." HL Mencken
When we did our lighting in our kitchen with cans, I wired up a can with the proper lamp/reflector and moved it around to see the coverage.
Ha! great idea! Makes sense from a cameraman!"Democracy is when the people know exactly what they want, and get it good and hard." HL Mencken
