more Crawlspace Fun? — heating ducts
I got a lot of great information and advice on my question about wrapping water pipes in the crawl space (advice: don’t bother, just keep the crawl space snug and warm). Now, I would like to ask about heating ducts.
One of the registers blows almost-cold air, and it is seeming to me that that is because the air has to travel a distance to that specific register (it is in the bathroom, so as you imagine, we see it as an “important” register location!)
I was thinking of wrapping the ducts (they are round) with something in order to keep the air warmer in its journey. (I’m going to be insulating the perimeter of the foundation, per previous advice. And there is already a moisture barrier.) Or thinking at least to wrap the ducts that stretch the furthest away from the source.
What advice do you have for a poor guy/newbie homeowner on this idea?

Well, there's always hope someone will stop in here with some help:o)
Here in Washington, we use foil-faced fiberglass insulation made just for this application. Call your local HVAC contractor and he should be able to hook you up with the right stuff.
