Mortar for loose brick veneer repair?
My single story house has a brick veneer that runs up to the eaves. On the gable ends, T111 is the siding on the triangle peak that overlaps the top course of brick by about 2″ . The problem is that some of the top course bricks are loose to the point that they can be pulled out or pushed in. The failure line is on the top face of the bricks just below the top course.
My thoughts are that since the house is 35 years old and in a hot & humid area that it may be prone to failure again.
I’d like to fix this just once and be done with it. It has been my intention to paint the house to hide the very ugly bland tan brick. I’m now thinking that elastomeric paint & primer may be required, but that is not the “fix”IMO.
What is the right mortar and /or adhesive to use for this repair?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
