Does anyone have experience working with Haener or Azar mortarless blocks? Specifically, I’m looking for information on using them for a small home foundation in upstate NY. Thanks for any help.

Worked with something like this (looking more like the Haener than Azar) on a Habitat project in Denver, about 10-12 years back. For that project it was used as the actual home walls, and grouted with a pumper. (Walls built and grouted in two roughly 5-foot lifts.) The foundation was conventional (and, in fact, thereby hangs a tale).
Worked well, but you needed to carefully cut the blocks for openings, since you couldn't use mortar to cover your mistakes and rough-cut edges. The openings also had to be framed in with temporary forms, of course, to permit the grouting.
happy?
