Years of moisture in the basment of my g/f’s home has left mold on the bottom 12″-16″ of drywall and the frameing. The drywall fix was simple, rip it out and take it to the dump.
Now I am wondering what to do about the bottom plate and studs that show mold, being that they are non bearing walls I can cut the most of it out and replace it or treat the mould.
The moisture problem has been fixed now I need to know how to deal with this black mold!

A thorough soaking in bleach should help get rid of it.
If you go the bleach route, make sure you get the mixture of bleach to water correct. I don't know what it is off-hand, but I do know for a fact that a milder bleach/water mixture is far more effective than straight bleach.
FWIW, the bleach/water solution would be my first plan of attack.
Mold, not mould!
It will cease living with out the proper moisture tempature ratio.

I'm no expert by any means, but there is a lot of information out there to the effect that bleach is ineffective as a black-mold killer. I would definitely do some research on the net before deciding on a treatment. There are commercially produced mold-killers available. Again, I'm not an expert, but I do know the health ramifications can be serious, and it shouldn't be taken lightly.

We use Timbor. Kill it with a bleach solution. Soak the wood framing with a Timbor solution (up to about 3'). Let it dry a week then rock it with paperless drywall. DONE
