MULTIMASTER CLONES – which one?
@@@
Trying to sort out the Multimaster clones. Anyone with hands on?
There is harbor freight, the Bosch 12v (they say you get 8 min. per battery), the dremel, the rockwell – which sounded good – but you can’t get blades for it.
Could have used one today. Can use one tomorrow.

I saw an infomercial for the Rockwell this AM. I thought it was the Fein at first, until I noticed that the color was wrong, and the shape was off a bit. In my defense, I hadn't had coffee yet.
I was hoping that the blades for the Rockwell fit the older MM I have. Maybe save a few bucks.
I don't think any blades interchange among the rivals. They want you captive. The money is in the blades.Sonicrafter site has a good selection:<https://www.sonicrafter.com/index.asp?gclid=CL7co6qP7JYCFRxNagodBmgurg>Compared to Fein, they are reasonably price. What no one has is a version of naily wood. I need one that will cut thru a 2x and deal with nails on the way for rafter tails and such. Trying to fold myself around a garage light while teetering on a ladder in a bush and make a cut with a recip up to but not including the starter board sucks.Sonicrafter good a nice review from Tool Snob. I am inclined to them.<http://www.toolsnob.com/archives/cat_all_reviews.php>The ToolBear

Never say anything bad about a person untill you have walked a mile in his shoes, by then you will be a mile away from him and you will have his shoes.

Keep in mind that the star-shaped blade arbor on the new(er) Fein MM machines will NOT accept the 'old' 10mm. round-hole blades.
That said, I am certain that the 10mm. round-hole arbor blades from both Dremel and Bosch will fit the Fein MM 636 (old round arbor). I can't say whether Fein blades will fit on a Dremel (or maybe Bosch) because of the funny finger(s) on the tool that engage slots in the blade.

I have the older Fein, my dad just bought the Dremel. His blades fit mine. Sounds good to me. He had the circular cutting blade and it bolted right onto my MM. He paid $9. I paid $45.
Family.....They're always there when they need you.

We will all be wanting your first impressions, etc.I thought I might get the basic unit and spend on more blades. I can't imagine sanding with it at work. I can see trying to cut 2x rafter tails along the block line. I think they have a 1.5" blade. It was said Sears stocks this. In their catalog. The ToolBear

if a man speaks in the forest, and there's not a woman to hear him,is he still wrong?
I prefer that the team take one for me. Seems to work better that way.The ToolBear
