I finally pulled the trigger on one of the new Fein Multimasters. The first use was one I didn’t expect — I had to trim a door and using my EZ Smart Guide (as everyone knows) you can’t cut all the way through a door using a 7 1/4″ saw. So I trimmed the door most of the way through and trimmed off the “hanging chad” with the Multimaster. It was fast and smooth and saved me from buying an 8 1/4″ saw for the occasional door trim job.
As an aside, I ordered a Fein metal case from the low price on the internet — www.toolmarts.com . I can tell you that these guys are terrible to deal with. Took my order and didn’t tell me they were out of stock until several days later. I ordered on Sunday night and I just now (Thursday night) received an email that only some of my order is being shipped. There is nowhere on their website where you can check your order status. I have to keep sending emails and calling them to find out what is going on. Anyway, you get what you pay for, but hey, it’s just a metal case and some sanding pads.
On Sunday I placed a Rockler order I received today and an Amazon order with overnight shipping for $3.99.
I should have bought the case from Coastal Tools. I love those folks.
