Well, after all the wondering and speculating, we taped the show today. I found out real quick that it was my job to be quiet, stay the heck out of the way, and be available for questions and other minor things.
Now they are gone until it’s time for the owners to paint. Then they’ll be gone until it’s time for them to hang the vanities.
I did get a few seconds of camera action, a lot of compliments on the plan and company’s organization, a lot of “thank-you’s” for being helpful, and above all, I got 2 potential jobs – one from the producer, and one from the production assistant.
It was a pretty neat experience, all things considered. Sorta hectic and disorganized, but somehow organized at the same time. It seems like these folks are so used to working in a totally disorganized environment, that it becomes normal and “organized” to them.
