New house…as chronicled through here the last year.
1400 sq/ft Ranch sitting on a walkout.
On cloudy days, my basement gets chilly because all the hot air rises upstairs.
The differential isn’t much 2-3 degrees, but the house as a whole is tight enough that on a 40 degree day, lights and activity keep it warm enough that the furnace doesn’t kick on after 6:00 am.
Any suggestions for circulation?

Invite everybody in for a big hoe-down.
Especially Boss Hog and all his lady friends.
You see plenty of circulation then.

DOH!DW just asked me why it was cold, while I was perusing, so I thought I would ask the experts...I probably could have come to that conclusion on my own sooner or later :DA medium to large guy named Alan, not an ambiguous female....

Talk about a brain fade.
Just today I get on the phone calling a local lumberyard to ask if they carried a PVA primer and as the phone starts ringing I realize I can't remember the name of the primer.
Kept coming up with API and knew that wasn't it.
Had to hangup and wait for it to come around again.
Got me a bit concerned.

Nah, it's when you get halfway through a BT post and you still remember the topic of the thread that you need to worry.
If your view never changes you're following the wrong leader
You're complaining that your furnace doesnt turn on all day!?
Turn on a fan and rejoice in all the gas you've saved.
Turn on the furnace fan.
Why not get one of those fantech fans with a 10-30-60 min timers and run a duct from upstairs to down stairs. When it gets cold hit the timer
If I could figure out a way to do it neatly, I would like a duct between floors on each end of the house, to maybe get a little natural convection going. How many sq/in would it take to move 12,000 cu/ft of air in hour?.A medium to large guy named Alan, not an ambiguous female....
