I’m an owner/remodeler, contemplating purchase of nail gun for framing, fiber cement siding, and composite trim. Have not used nail guns before. I’m considering the Bostitch N88RH framing nailer, which uses plastic collated, stick framing nails. My question is, is this nailer appropriate for siding as well as framing, and if so, what are the optimal nails? Amazon offers 2 3/8 inch glav nails for the nailer, and also ring-shank nails (but these don’t appear to be galvanized, which would seem to make them a poor choice for siding).
Does anyone offer stainless steel nails for nail guns (for siding)?
Thanks, as always, for sharing your expertise.

Framing is framing and siding is siding. I'm sure someone has sided with a framing nailer but IMHO, you need 2 guns.

You might want to consider getting the Hitachi nv75 gun instead. It's a coil gun, & might be a better choice if you plan on using it for both framing & siding. Check it out here...

As far as stainless nails, try these guys...

Thanks much! The Hitachi looks like a good choice for combining framing and siding functions, which would make the $370 price tag reasonable even for a part timer like me.
And thanks, also, for the link to the stainless steel fasteners.
