I know this question is a can of worms but could some folks sound off on per square foot prices for installation of pre-finished strip flooring. I’m about to submit a bill and it’s seems awfully low.

Being its prefinished theres not much to figure. I'd just figure my installation time and the material.
I never figure prefinished by the sq ft because different prefinished floors are all different prices and some of the applications are slightly different unlike unfinished floors unless of course you're doing something extra fancy like bleaching or pickeling etc.

I pay my flooring company about $6.50 a sq ft - turnkey (includes shoe mold) for prefinished 3/4" oak. Not sure how much the labor only would be - if that is what you mean.
Installation for standard prefinished hardwood flooring is between $3-4/sq.ft. in my area.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match

Just had a quote that worked out to about $4.60 sq ft. labor only... Last thing to do in a little family room remodel ...Included installing new base and carpet and pad haul off...Probably less than $4 for the flooring only...
Question
Since we are on pre-finished flooring...If I were to do it myself...What is a good staple gun for 9/16" Tarkett engineered wood...Most of the engineered flooring staple guns seem to be spec'd for 3/8" to 1/2"... Are they all adjustable for 9/16" or do I have to be careful and get the right one...What model gun have you used for 9/16"
Thanks Gary
I sub out flooring installs. I think the Spotnails Striker gun has adapters for 9/16". I've never used one.Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Thanks for the tip...It spurred me to do my research...Tarkett seems to want the big Bostitch M111S stapler that shoots 2" staples for the 9/16"...
But here is the Spotnails Specs: The Spotnails Striker WS4840W2 laminated flooring stapler is an excellent tool for installing 3/8", 1/2" and 9/16" thick laminated tongue and groove hardwood flooring. Uses 1/4" crown 18 gauge nylon coated staples in 1-3/8" length. Nylon coating gives greater holding power. Comes with plastic carrying case and adapters for 1/2" and 9/16" flooring. Air fitting and tool oil included. Use only Spotnails 4811PN nylon coated staples
The 1-3/8" length is sure better than all the other 1" staplers I had been seeing...I like the nylon coating too...I will call Tarketts Tech Service number I found next week and really see what they say. The little Spotnails is a lot cheaper and probably easier, but may not cinch up as tight as the big Bostitch.
The Tarkett QuikLoc Engineered Flooring I am looking at is beautiful stuff...It has a true square edge, that seems to be very accurately milled...I can't see why anyone would use a beveled edge product when this is available...As close to a finished in place as you can get in a pre-finished flooring.
Gary
about four bucks a foot lately, can be more for cut-up.
but personally, it really bothers me when guys decide how much to charge AFTER they have finished the job. It reeks of un-professional. Maybe you have a unique arrangement with owner...
