What is the proper nailing scheule for 11 7/8 all joists? Rim? Bearing point? Ive always used two 16d gun nails at each side of the bottom cord and one from the rim to the top cord, nothing from the rim to the bottom cord. Any help would be apreciated.

Seaport, I put one 10d (or16d)gun nail on each side of the bottom cord into bearing as far to the inside edge of the bearing as possible so as to avoid splitting the chord and one nail through the rim into the top chord. Truss Joist International has all their framing details on the web I believe.
*All the manufacturers have extensive literature available that covers things like that. Ask your supplier for their recommendations
*Dear BH,Of course, that's the right answer. I started looking at my books. Gang-Nail, Truss Joist, GP, LP all have different nailing spec's. And since these products are far less tolerant of installation errors than lumber, we have to follow their directs closely. Carps have to be good readers, no?With aging lenses, Fred
