I am looking for specifications on nailing strength. I seem to remember from somewhere back, “The National Lumber Institute” or some such important sounding name, there was considerable research on nailing strength of nailing into end-grain -vs- into cross-grain, etc. I’d sure appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance,
Jerry

The "The National Design Specification¯ (NDS¯) for Wood Construction" is what you need. Reading this is guarantees to cure the most persistent insomnia.

Not only am I redundant and superfluous, but I also tend to use more words than necessary
You might be better off at this website:

The other one ia trying to sell it as a software package or something.
