Nails for nailer,coalation and angles
on another topic- My CH nailer uses 28 degree clipped head nails-Does the wire or paper coalation interchange? I have been ussing wire weld nails but I picked up some paper tape nails at a great deal and figured I would check with you guys-
While we are at it, what type of coalation do you prefer? and what angle?I know my bro in law has a p-c nailer that shoots full head plastic coalated and I did not care for the plastic projectiles it launched during use!

The nailer I just got uses 28degree paper collated and the book that come with it says to use only paper collated. I can get the @ Sears and Harbour Freight. If you know of ANY where else that you can get paper collated PLEASE let me know!!

campbell hausfeld sells them as well...
You need to be careful what nails you stuff into a nailer. My casual observation is that wire and plastic collated nails are full head, and paper collate are clipped head. They are definately not interchangeable.

the wire weld nails I am using are clipped head-Can i use the paper tape clipped heads in its place?
there are three different collation of nails in todays market place. Full head round nails paper collated is 33 degrees, plastic collated nails are 21 degree. and wire weld clipped head nails are 28 degree nails. so the answer is NO ,you MUSt use the same wire weld nails in your nail gun . Bostitch nails are 28 degree wire weld and they will work. Good luck, PS a nail gun is not a tool to experiment with , just plain too dangerous if something goes wrong.
the paper tape nails I have are 28 degree clipped head, just like the wire weld 28 degree clipped heads I am currently using...Except paper instead of wire coalation.
