I need some magazine advice. I just found out INSPIRED HOUSE is being canceled. I’m very sad. It is a great magazine for someone like me – I own a small bungalow. It addressed the type of house I have with decorating ideas in my price range and good solid advice for owning a home. So many house magazines are sterile, cold, super-unrealistic expensive or over jammed with clutter and do-das for the photo and expensive beyond anything I would ever consider. INSPIRED HOUSE was great and now it’s going away. Does anyone know another such house magazine?

Huh? Where did you hear that? I haven't received any notification from Taunton about this, and there's no announcement on the IH part of the website. You're making me nervous - please tell me this is a belated April Fool's joke.
I hope I'm wrong. I called to purchase subscriptions for Christmas presents and the woman said they were canceling in March.
I just paid for another year too. I hope that isn't the case. Anyone know for sure what's happening?
I just called Taunton and they said the 15th issue will be the last one (the March/April issue). They said there were not enough subscribers. The woman said the decision was made only a few weeks ago which is why no one has heard yet.
I am very sad. I related my sadness to the woman on the phone who had some sympathy. She said she would send my response to higher ups, but that the decision was made.
I wonder if there is anyway to get the decision changed?
Thanks for the update. Sad news; it's a great magazine.
I gotta wonder if Jod is a troll--3 posts, all on this thread, there no mention of any shutdown on the website, and the subscription base is higher than that for Threads, according to the media kits for both magazines.
Hopefully Sheila will answer the question soon.

I am a domestic goddess! I deserve three ovens (and two dishwashers)! I am a domestic goddess! I deserve three ovens (and two dishwashers)! I am a domestic goddess! I deserve three ovens (and two dishwashers). . .
Actually, I think Jod is right. If you look at this site:
http://www.taunton.com/home/index.asp
You'll see that it is possible to subscribe to Fine Homebuilding, but not to Inspired House.
Since you have a bungalow, have you looked at "American Bungalow"? It focuses on Bungalows and the "bungalow style". They have a web site at http://www.AmericanBungalow.com

Sorry to hear. Style 1900 is also a good magazine for the Arts & Crafts style.
Yes, I just read Sheila's note at the top of this forum.
I sure wish I could help you out with a suggestion but IH was the best -- by far -- of all the magazines on this topic that I had ever seen. And I searched long and hard for just that type. :- (
Perhaps someone else will have a suggestion for you.
