because of the smaller grip for my dainty paws. I was at HD and saw a PC for half the price, as were the staples–what gives? I like reliable tools and PC has let me down lately.
I don’t have a lot of use for a stapler, but i’ve got a couple houses of soffit to do and it seems like a whole lot better idea than countersinking and screwing, which i started to do. I have a sweet 15 ga. Bostitch finish nailer, but don’t think that will fight gravity well enough…?
Doing 3/8 ply on one house and leaning to Hardiesoffit for the other. If there were a search button, i probably wouldn’t have to bother you, but…suggestions for other brands, or another way to do the soffits using conventional weaponry would be welcome. Nailing by hand not an option due to carpal tunnel. Can Hardiesoffit be stapled even? Thanks, guys.

no, it can't be stapled..
i'd use the bostich coil nailer and ring shank nails with a small head..
SS. for the hardie....
*as far as my expirience with staplers go, I'd look around used tool stores for a Senco M1 or M2. The M1 is the best stapler i have ever used. Bostiches are nice, however, unusually loud and quite a bit more expensive (around $400.00). The new Senco staplers will get a slow paced job like soffit and facia done but don't have the rapid fire responce to keep up with sheathing and subfloor.gabe
*Gabe, I hadn't considered a medium crown stapler, only the narrow. My used tool gurus who do all my repair don't have one, but i registered my interest if one comes in--i don't need this for a month or so.Mike, i think i'll go with ply for both soffits. Any recommendations on a stapler in that case?
*no... i haven't used a narrow or wide crown staple in about 15 years...just got away from them..too much inventory...trying to keep it simple... but it never is...still like the coil nailer for trim and siding....and sheathing.. and sub-floor...
*I have used two of Senco's narrow crown staplers. The SLS??? and the SKS???. I preffered the SKS over the SLS. The SKS seemed better built for a variety of work and SLS seemed like a cabinet finish tool. The SLS blew and "O" ring on the third time out.
