The pics look great to me, but for dial-up users, most guys who post photos downsize with Irfanview. Do a search for "irfanview" and you will find out what you need. It is an easy program to work with.
I like your cabinets and exposed trusses.

thanks.
trusses are strictly for ascethetics nothing bearing at all on them.

24441.1 tyke, you can click on this 24441.1 number and it will take you to an old thread of concentrated data regarding a pic sizing download called irfanview.
A lot of folks that post pics here find it useful.
ok just a little constructive input here..
the Z braces on the doors..would function a bit better if they had the down hill side bearing at the hinge side of the door..I know in cabietry the weight is not too great and aesthestics are sometimes overriding structural correctness..so if ya happen to do a barn or shed door..reverse what ya did there..
I like what I could make out other than that little detail..the pics were too much res for me to be alble to really see much..

thanks sphere.
i debated which way to do the z's on both the cabinets and and the interior doors. the reasonoing i came up with is that z's would act like a turnbuckle on a screen door and keep the knob side fron sagging.i dont believe they will because i glued and clamped them. i also pondered on biscuiting the planks together but that would have been to uniform i felt by the home owner(who is also a friend of 25 years).
this is a rental home here and people name thier homes here. it's quite quaint but dont really get it. no one ever names their house fred or rachel. she named her house the "Beach Burrito".
i just hung the shutters last week ill take a pic and try to figure out how to make them fit.
can always use a liitle constructive input

Looks good, but can I ask you why you built them out of cypress, not saying that you shouldnt have just wondered why you chose that wood.
Doug
I really like cypress it has some beautiful reds and the occaisional hint of blue. I used cypress for the planks upstairs and yellow pine c-better downstairs. She wanted a sort modern rustic look, and she didn't want anything to dark and no painted wood, thata girl. I hate it would have nice wood with beautiful colors and grains and then what do they do when that said they weren't they paint it.
It is a little soft but we thought that the little dings and things would add to the rustic look.

In a few weeks I'm going to make 4 patio doors out of cypress, I like working with the wood to, and its not all that pricey!
By the way, I bumped the Irfanview thread up at the "gallery" take a look, very easy and useful, also others will be able to enjoy your work.
