I just removed the plaster from a brick wall (semi-detached, other side is neighbor), would like to leave the brick exposed. House is 1875, thus lime mortar and soft (no glazed) facing. Looking for sealer to hold in dust (again, soft brick and lime mortar – you lean on it, your going to get dusty!). looking to keep original (mat) look, do not want gloss look. Any product suggestions ?

I've used Thompson's Water Seal pretty successfully. You'll want to make sure the brick is well cleaned (with tsp or if you're feeling brave muriatic acid) and really well rinsed. Make sure the wall is completely dry or the water seal will turn milky. A few coats should do the trick and it leaves the bricks looking natural (no gloss).
With regards to cleaning with water and muriatic acid: it's an indoor wall, could be a scary mess ! I cleaned off the bricks with a steel brush & shop vac. Think it'll be enough ?
Thanks for the quick reply.
