Need recommendation for Insulation around furnace/hot water vent
I am using rigid foam insulation (XPS) to insulate my basement at the top of block/mudsill/rim joist area.
My furnace/hot water heater vents through the rim joist, entering the unheated, uninsulated garage & exiting the building through the garage roof.
Can anyone recommend a product that I can/should use around this penetration to seal it???? And how would I tie this into my rigid foam insulation on either side of this vent? Thanks!

I used a product called "rock
I used a product called "rock wool", which may have a different name in your area. It looks like a heavy, coarse fiberglass but is supposed to have better fire retardant properties. It comes in about 1.5" thick mats.
