I need to remove the milk chute next to the rear door of my 1948 brick colonial in order to pull romex cables up through a kitchen wall. I don’t want to brick up the hole because the existing brick on my home will be hard to match, due to what I believe is acid rain discoloration. Instead, I would like to install something flat and decorative in the spot which is roughly 18″ square. So far I’ve had glass block as a suggestion. I was thinking of some sort of ceramic or masonry medallion. Address numbers were another suggestion, but this is on the rear of the house. Does anyone have a better idea or a source for a unique solution?
