Hi all:
Customer wants a screened porch with a screened door that “swings both ways”, no jokes please ;-), so that their dogs can go in and out as they please. Where can I find the hinges? I’m a bit concerned about bringing the idea to fruition, but in theory it sounds like a good idea. I guess there will need to be some kind of spring loaded or meighted mechanism to return the door to the closed position and hold it there during a light wind. I’m guesing it is going to be a bit hard to get the door to seal enough to keep bugs out too. The dogs are med to large size, so operating the door should not be a problem.
The hardware needs to have a weather resistant finish. The porch “walls” and door are to be made of PT lumber and the project is to be stained, not painted.
Any additional ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

I dont have all the answers but here goes..
Cafe hinges ...like for batwing doors
restaurant kitchen type hinges
top and bottom pivot hinges..I have made my own with a steel plate and a 3/8 th stud welded to it..bolt the plate to the floor and rdill the door for the stud ..a few nylon bushings and attach the top by insert ing the stud in the door then screwing the plate to the head trim..
if ya can hang the door a bit out of plumb it will find center and a ball catch will act as a keeper..
sorry I can't do more right now, gotta split.
