Does anyone know of a source to buy HVAC duct (tubes and fittings) on line. The borg does not carry a wide selection and I want a thicker guage than the aluminum foil 30 guage stuff they carry.

When deck posts exceed what the prescriptive code tables allow, it's time to consult a structural engineer for post sizing and possible bracing.

There's a source for real HVAC parts in just about every city and town. BTW- the crappy parts from the borg do work, they just won't hold up to a lot of abuse.
Where are you located? Perhaps somebody here can recommend a local vendor. Sending duct by UPS might not be too cost effective, unless you're way out in the boonies.

I'm in New Jersey (certainly not the boonies!), but sometimes its easier to get a $3 thing on the internet and pay $5 to ship it rather then spend my only morning available on the weekend going to the plumbing store instead of doing the work (and getting mean looks from the counter guy because I'm a homeoner anyway)
yes for some reason the HVAc parts people and the "pros" in HVAC really hate DIY people.
That is exactly why I want to go on-line.
Yeah, they hate DIY people because they can't gouge any eyes out. I called a place in town for propane jets that fit a direct-vent heater so I can use it in my garage. They shot me a price of $55 and they can order them right away, if I want to give them my credit card #. I got off the horn and e-mailed the company that made it- Ace Hardware sells them (2 miles from my door) and they list for $35. I don't have a problem with someone making a profit- they have to or they go under. I do have a problem with someone selling for more than retail (and I don't want to hear anyone who thinks I need to be told that there's a suggested retail price, average selling price, etc. I've been in retail for a long time).
