I recently bought the Hitachi, so far I like it....Sorry I can't reply on the the Bosch.
What's the blade tensioner ?????? I just got the Bosch 18 v cordless and I don't see a tensioner?
I used it a couple of times. Are you talking about the blade release? It seems to work really good.
If you are speaking of the 1590vfsk, I just today bought one. ($170, h/d). Cut out two, 2" thick headboards. Works much better than the POC yellow devil...the curves weren't to outrageous but the blade cut square. There were some wanders from the line , but that was due to the top layer of the ply chipping off so I couldn't see the line..First impression was ok....
I got one a couple of days ago and I'm really impressed, seems to cut real square!
Helped set up a bunch of brand new ones at the Skills Canada competition I was just at; niiiiice, quite impressed, and I've always liked and bought Bosch jigsaws. I see a couple in my future.cabinetmaker/college woodworking instructor. Cape Breton, N.S
For those interested.....I've been using my bosch 1590 jig saw for a little over a week now and I'm real happy with it. It is heavier but it feels even more solid than it's earlier version. It also seems to have more power. Blade tensioner is fantastic, all the toolless functions work nice. When you change blades it even ejects it out.
Anyone have the Festo?
david,
i have the old festool and the new, i think the new bosch design is similar to the festool. the festool uses ceramic blocks ( like a band saw ) to support the blade and keep it cutting square. i highly recomend it. it is a stable quiet cutting tool with dust colleciton that works.

I'm about to buy another jigsaw and was angling towards that bosch...The only problem I've heard is that it gets very hot after a few minutes of use...Any truth to this?
I haven't noticed any excessive heat.....I'll keep on eye on that.
Dang, your's was just the review I needed to hear<G>I've already got one with screwdriver, one with the click, now I've got to go uptown again! Don't worry, we can fix that later!
