new douglas fir porch floor finish

I just installed a new douglas fir porch floor and I’m looking for the best finish that will take the moisture and changes of the outdoors. It’s covered by a two foot overhang on the roof and has a decent slope so rain that does land on it will not stay long. However, it will see rain and some sun. Any comments? I remember catching a thread awhile ago about this but didn,t soak it in. Thanks

How do I say this? One tip I wished you had remembered would have been to prime or seal all sides and cuts b/4 you install. Which direction did you lay the floor?

The floor is layed parallel with the ext. walls. It,s a hip porch that has a 45 degree butt joint against an ipe decorative ripper between them down the center of the hip. when the floor reaches the hand rail or screen the fir stops and the ipe runs on to the more exposed areas and down the treads and risers.
