I was looking at some cabinets made in Germany and was wondering if anyone has had experiance with them. They are made by a company called Poggen Pohl. They are a modern looking european style cabinet and seem to be well crafted with a lot of nice options. Any opinions would be helpful.
Thanks,
Bob

That bad huh? I'm waiting for the estimates, but that's what I was expecting. Do you know if anyone in the states make similar types of cabinets?
I'm just guessing, but I'll bet that the shipping cost will be higher than the cabinets themselves. Gas and deisel prices are a bit high just now, and it takes a lot of both to get cabinets from Germany to wherever you might be.
And I'll also bet that if you ask around, you will find a local cabinet maker that will match the quality and the features, and beat the price, at least by a little. And if none of the cabinet makers will do it, then ask about local woodworkers -- furniture makers and restorers.
Unless you're the lead dog, the view just never changes.

I dont know where you live but I would bet that there is a boat load of cabinet makers that can build what you want that are a damn sight closer than Germany!
There has to be someone within reasonable distance that can do what you want. Where you at, someone here probably can give you a name or two.

Just find a cabinet maker with a German name. ;^}
Bob,
I don't know of an American mfg that has that look. I've seen some Italian ones that do. It's a European thing I guess. Some very trick, slick stuff. Some of Ikea's designs have the feel, but the quality is not there.
But, as the others said, If you have a pic of what you want, someone here can surely copy the design for a lot less $$. Last time I priced PogenPohl was about 20 yrs ago. 30k for 15 linear ft. After I regained consciousness, I decided that I could achieve the look I wanted another way. Never gonna have them, nor the English company whose name escapes me at the moment.....nor the Aga cooker.
