New Member Introduction

| Posted in General Discussion on December 14, 2004 09:12am

Hey fellas! I just wanted to introduce myself. I just opened my business of building new homes and additions as well as remodels and rehabs. With nine years of experience in residential construction, I figured it was time go out on my own. I’ll have many questions and hopefully a few answers. Thanks for having me!

you like lettuce, tomatoes or both...

want which kind of dressing with that..

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming

    WOW!!!   What a Ride!

        Matt's pretty cool.

He filled out the location in his profile without being asked to.

Sounds like someone should write a "BT FAQ"

          Chapter One: Profiles

          Chapter Two: Piffinscrews

Chapter Three: Housewrap, Speed Squares, LH vs RH Circ Saws and Things That Go Bump In The Night

          Chapter Four: "pol" threads

Chapter Five: Is it a gadget or is it a tool? (PaulB contributing editor)

          What else???

        3. JohnT8 | Dec 15, 2004 01:44am | #11

Hey, Rez, I've got a new cause for you to champion.  Get folks to quote (copy-paste) what they are replying to (kinda like I did above).

Nothing worse than getting a 200-post long thread with 15 conversations going on and you read the new messages and have NO idea what they're talking about...unless you scroll back up 20 messages to re-read the message they replied to.

Sorry, I could care less about profiles, but I hate having to scroll up to get up to speed on a conversation.

JohnT8, all you have to do it hit the number after the words "in reply to". Keep hitting that number till everything makes sense.

blueWarning! Be cautious when taking any framing advice from me. Although I have a lifetime of framing experience, all of it is considered bottom of the barrel by Gabe. I am not to be counted amongst the worst of the worst. If you want real framing information...don't listen to me..just ask Gabe!

That works, but quoting is still more reader friendly.  No clicking forwards and backwards to track down the conversation.jt8

Profile location's a one time thru and done deal serving all.

Copy-Paste would be a forever project with no end.

Welcome to the forum brother and welcome to the joys of owning your own business.  You'll soon find that you are totally addicted to this joint and can't make a decent business decision without consulting this slew of knuckleheads for feedback.  Maybe it's just me... dunno.

Anyway, what's your favorite choice of fastener for installing cabinets?

    Tyvek or tarpaper?

You a wormdrive guy or a sidewinder?

sheath your walls before or after standing 'em?

Hey... we gotta know where you stand and all.  ;)

"Anyway, what's your favorite choice of fastener for installing cabinets?"

Molly bolt works well for me.

      "Tyvek or tarpaper?"

      Tyvek. Better price.

"You a wormdrive guy or a sidewinder?"

      Sidewinder

"sheath your walls before or after standing 'em?"

      After.
