I was just up to the lumber yard to get some .40 PT lumber and had a scary converstation with the yard manager. In September, 2003 PT lumber as we have come to know and love it will be no more. He had horror stories about what will be the replacement as to a) the Cost and b) its survivablilty in a soil/ termite environment. I live in FL and .25 PT lumber will be eaten by termites if left in contact with the ground for more than 6 months. What is the real deal about the “NEW” PT lumber???

There have been several threads about it here, if you'd care to search the archives.
I doubt it's anywhere as bad as they made it sound.

Good discussion recently about galv nails, bolts and hangers in the new ACQ and CBA treated wood. Simpson has a disclaimer on website. Stainless recommended. Maybe somebody here can dredge up that thread and post a link to it here.
