I have a question about some roof related products. First, a while back inthe Fine Homebuilding magazine they featured a mounting product for mini-dish satellite systems, it was a heavy guage metal mounting bracket that was attached to the roof and flashed and shingled over, leaving a permant mounting place for the small dish without having to have holes in the roof from mounting the thing. I can not find the issue that it was in nor can I find anything about a product like this on-line? Any one knwo the issue or the name of the product?
Also I wanted to get some feedback about the Solatube additional fan kit. As you can assume I am re-roofing my home and want to install an exhaust fan in my bathroom, I also wanted to add a Solatube. I figure with the light kit and the fan kit there would only be one fixture on the ceiling. Anyone try this? I have installed the tubes and installe them with light kits but have never installed the fan kit and can’t seem to find anyone at my lumber yard that has either?
Thanks

I didn't see the mounting bracket you mention, but you could run a length of galvanized steel pipe through the roof, secure it in the attic and flash it as you would a vent pipe projecting through the roof.

i like the pipe.
you could get a long pipe and connect at several points of the truss and then no wind would move it.
