Suns going down, the stores are closing and I’m trying to hook up my new sink. I’ve got 1 1/2 inch pvc dvw wall bend coming from my P trap to the schedule 40 pvc wye. How are they connected?
Wait………looking at the package I’ve thrown out, it shows a MARVEL connector. Is that the answer? In the meantime though, my wall bend is not long enough to reach the wye. Can I connect another thin wall pve piece to the wall bend with a Fernco clamp?
Thanks.

You need what we call a "code adapter" it is a fitting that is 1-1/2" plain end x 1-1/2" male IPS thread. That will glue into the wye socket.
Your "wall bend" AKA a trap arm slides into the code adapter & a slip joint nut & washer connects them.
If the code adapter is too far away from the trap arm you will need a female socket code adapter & a small piece of sch 40 pvc.
Thank you. Too late to wash the dishes tonite, but between the rain outside tonite the dogs licking the plates I'll be okay till the a.m.
